We acted as Brokers and sold this home to the current owner and acted as General Contractors for the renovation and master suite addition. The home had been in the same family for over 70 years and was extremely tired, dirty and outdated. There were 5 to 8 coats of vinyl paint over the original oil and it took our 3 men over 3 weeks to strip doors, casings, crown moldings, cabinets and to prepare wall and ceiling surfaces prior to opening the first can of paint. Our buyer wanted to move in as soon as possible so we had 60 days from close of escrow to: paint, install central heat and air, gut and rebuild the bathrooms including lowering the floor joists to accommodate new tile floors over a new floated concrete base, refinish the hardwood floors and install new hardwood in the living and dining rooms because the original hardwood was too thin, repair the window frames where necessary and install all new counterbalance ropes and install new light fixtures.
The kitchen, laundry room and breakfast room were combined and remodeled after the owner moved in. Again we lowered the floor joists to accommodate new tile floors over a new floated concrete base and installed solid maple counter tops on the new cabinetry. We also added a 575 square foot master suite with finishes to match the original as close as possible.
